19:32:27 From A. Everhart : I am having difficulty with the audio device drivers on my laptop and cannot hear the recording. will the be recorded so I can watch the replay? Thanks so much. 19:32:53 From Nancy Burgess : I'm hearing really well. 19:32:56 From munch : @A. EverhartΒ - it is being recorded 19:33:27 From Scott Nemec : Yes, this presentation is being recorded and will be available later on YouTube 19:34:27 From Scott Nemec : If there are questions for the speaker, write them out here. 19:51:41 From munch : Do you see a need to tweak regulation in adjacent areas like privacy? I can see hardware and algorithms evolving in ways that could extract PII from data where it can't now 19:52:38 From munch : To Scott's point - AI can metaphorically as literally generate more heat than light:) 20:02:17 From Usman : Regarding these LLM crawlers being so indiscriminate even with unindexed pages, are they also crawling and collecting from the dark web? 20:02:19 From Lisa Beal : As I was growing up, I tagged along with my father to various customer sites. One of these was a major automaker's assembly plant. This was during a time when robotics were just starting to be used. Many worker were afraid they would lose jobs to machines. My father explained that people would be doing different jobs, but generally not being replaced by machines (and, in fact, this is what happened). How do you (personally) explain how AI will cause a similar evolution in the work we will be doing? 20:02:33 From Lisa Beal : (similar to current question) 20:04:29 From Usman : @Lisa Beal While I can definitely agree that the jobs didn't "go away" the drastic lowering of the skill threshold was probably one of the things that made it so easy to outsource, and I could definitely see that also being the case for post-AI jobs. 20:04:29 From Usman : [This is an encrypted message] 20:04:48 From Lisa Beal : Reacted to "@Lisa Beal While I c..." with πŸ‘ 20:04:54 From Rafael Jeremy Fernandez : Reacted to "@Lisa Beal While I c..." with πŸ‘ 20:07:11 From Samuel Vargas : Will the military adopt AI? 20:07:41 From Lisa Beal : Replying to "Will the military ad..." I came in late and missed the beginning portion. 20:08:40 From munch : The other side of the coin is that the infrastructure needs of AI hardware render it that much more sensitive to environmantal disruptions. A Carrington-type event could wreak that much more havoc on an AI data center 20:08:44 From Rafael Jeremy Fernandez : Do you think there is a gold rush right now?
