Developing Web Applications with PHP

Abstract

Rapid application development is not limited to the desktop. PHP is a scripting language for creating dynamic Web pages that provides for RAD with its ease of use and rich feature set. In this presentation, we will discuss:

We will run and modify some example applications at the end of the presentation to see some concrete examples of RAD with PHP.

Speaker Bio

Jeff Jirsa works as a Senior Programmer/Analyst at Thomson Financial developing C++ and Java applications for the SpeedFeed data feed product line. Jeff developed a LAMP e-commerce site for Thomson to allow customers to sign up for services for their internet workstation product. Jeff has been using Linux since 1995, and developing web sites with Apache since 1998.
